Dr Ian Jacobson

MB BCh (Cum Laude), FRACS (General Surgery & Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery)

Dr Ian Jacobson is a dual-fellowship trained surgeon with expertise in both general surgery and otolaryngology/head and neck surgery. He is passionate about optimising health through evidence-based, collaborative care — always placing patients and their families at the centre of the decision-making process. Ian provides care across all aspects of adult and paediatric ENT, with particular clinical interest in:

  • Paediatric ENT Surgery
  • Snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea
  • Airway and voice (laryngeal) disorders
  • Benign and malignant salivary gland conditions
  • Complex congenital abnormalities of the head and neck
  • Head and neck cancer, as part of a multidisciplinary team

He is a Visiting Medical Officer at Sydney Children’s Hospital Randwick, Prince of Wales Public Hospital, and Prince of Wales Private Hospital. He is also a senior member of the Prince of Wales Head and Neck Cancer Clinic, where he plays an active role in the diagnosis and management of cancers of the upper aerodigestive tract as well as advanced complex skin malignancies of the head and neck.

A committed educator, Ian teaches both undergraduate students and postgraduate surgical trainees through the University of New South Wales and affiliated teaching hospitals. He is deeply involved in mentoring the next generation of ENT surgeons and takes pride in being a professional role model.

Ian’s research has been published in both Australian and international medical journals, and he continues to support academic inquiry through supervision and collaboration with medical students and junior doctors. He consults privately through the Sydney Adult and Children’s ENT Centre, offering comprehensive ENT care to patients of all ages.
